CHACHRO May 17: The lacking of basic facilities in schools and improper infrastructure are major causes of low literacy rate in Tharparkar. District is on 113 number in ranking of educational status in country, out of 4080 schools more than four thousand are nonfunctional, only 25.88% schools have buildings, 3.89% are electrified, 17.8% schools have water facility, 36.95% have toilet facility and only 39.38% schools have boundary walls. Govt is urged to spend on low cost infrastructure for schools along solar powered computer education to uplift Thar Desert, said by speakers on the occasion of inauguration ceremony of Green school in a remote village of Chachro, Tharparkar.
